We are really passionate about producing and drinking original world class wine and cider. It makes sense then, for us to create the perfect venues for people to enjoy our products. We currently have three pubs in Central London, each one totally unique in feel, but all three are dedicated to the same simple ingredients; great wines, craft beers and cider, fabulous food, stunning design and brilliant service. A simple idea but with a keen eye for the details, we’ve created pubs, restaurants and hotels that are worth returning to again and again.
The Fox and Anchor
The Fox and Anchor, the first stage in our Cunning Plan was opened in 2007. This small boutique pub-restaurant-hotel quickly became the most popular pub in Clerkenwell. Upstairs there are 6 individual and beautifully designed bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. The building itself is a historical site, retaining many of its original features including beautiful Arts and Crafts tiles and three highly sought after mahogany panelled snugs (private rooms for tables of 4-6) all of which make this a truly unique place to drink, eat and sleep.
We said a poignant farewell to The Fox and Anchor in June 2014.

The Bull is the ultimate City pub. Seconds away from Liverpool Street Station, on the pedestrianised Devonshire Row linking Bishopsgate to Devonshire Square. The ground floor pub is bustling with drinkers every weekday lunch time and evening; we serve daily lunch specials from 12-6pm, like giant home-made sausage rolls or our famous salt beef sandwich. The bar serves a large selection of craft beers, ales and ciders, highlighting a brewery of the week. Hidden away upstairs is The Hide at The Bull, an intimate 36 seat dining room and bar, offering a more refined lunch and dinner menu with delicate dishes such as scallops with lobster bisque and city classics like steak tartare with frites. Fine artwork and soft lighting make this a calm escape from the city crowds below, ideal for business lunches, private hire or romantic evening meals. Above The Hide are 7 beautifully decorated boutique hotel rooms with their own private entrance. These are all individually designed, each named after elements of the sites rich history, which dates back to the 1500. On every floor there is a generous pantry to which guests are invited to help themselves.

Just in case it wasn’t clear…we’re quite passionate about drinking. Not anything mind you, we like the good stuff. The Cunning Plan Wine and Spirits Club is a collaborative venture with a few friends we’ve made on our journey. Each month we will convene in one our venues to taste the finest wines and spirits the world has to offer. Members will gain access to the newest products to the market, get to meet their makers, drink and buy, wine tours and tastings of wineries, distilleries and breweries. It’s an education, but a fun one.
